Famed actor and Wheeling, West Virginia native John Corbett recently appeared on the Fly on the Wall podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade and said, “I made the damn wrong choice of what I wanted to do with my life.”

Corbett, 63, suggested he may have chosen the wrong career path.

“Look, I’m in the fourth quarter of football, of life, of show business. That’s just a fact. So I can now admit that I made the damn wrong choice of what to do with my life,” Corbett said.

Corbett added: “I made a lot of money. I live in a beautiful house. Every restaurant I go to, people come up to me. I’m a friend to the world,” the actor continued. “But as far as having a fulfilling creative working life, I didn’t write a single damn line. I didn’t write a single joke to make people laugh. So on that level, it was unfulfilling.”

Corbett mentioned famous actress Emma Stone as someone who is in the full creative process.

“I don’t collaborate with the writers,” Corbett explained. “…Have you ever sat in a doctor’s office waiting room for an hour and wondered, ‘What the hell?’ That’s what it’s like for me to make a film, because I’m not involved in any creative process.”

“I’m not a film actor… I’m actually a TV actor, and so everything has to happen fast and the guy has to make a million decisions. And we don’t cavort and go out for wine afterward,” he added. “And I’m just at that point in my life… if something seems really, really funny, I say yes.”

Corbett worked as a security guard at the Capitol Music Hall and attended Wheeling Central.

Corbett was last seen in the sequel to Sex and the City, And just like that… with his recurring role as Aidan Shaw.
