The singer-songwriter’s latest song is about “looking for love all along the Northeast Corridor (I-95)”

Bartees Strange literally writes an “interstate love song” on the singer-songwriter’s new single “Lie 95”.

“This song is about finding love along the entire Northeast Corridor (I-95) – my universe,” Strange said in a statement about the track. “I think of love in the broadest sense: partners, friends and community. This one is for the highway… and everything I encounter along it.”

Strange paired the single – his original new song from 2024 after “Big Glow” from the I saw the TV light up Soundtrack – featuring a video directed by Vincent Martell and Jordan Phelps in which two characters (both played by Strange) embark on a road trip that leaves a trail of trashed motel rooms in their wake.

“I’ve been searching/For someone to love/Now we’re parting ways/And I can’t get enough,” Strange sings in the chorus. “I’m focused on/Lifting you up.”
