TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Public Library is hosting a book and media sale later this month.

Visitors can purchase books, movies, music and other collectibles in the library’s Marvin Auditorium from July 19-21.

The library offers a membership program called Friends. The Friends have donated over $2 million to the library since 1971. Memberships can be purchased at the door for $20 for individuals or $30 for families.

On July 19, Friends of the Library members will have the opportunity to be the first to see the items. On July 20, admission is free and open to the public. On July 21, visitors can fill a shopping bag with books and movies for $10.

“You’ll get great titles for your home library while supporting the public library you love,” said Friends Executive Director Janel DeLeye.

The library encourages visitors to bring their own bags, boxes and luggage to take their books home.

  • Friends members only – July 19
  • Public book and media sale – July 20
  • Bag Day – July 21
