Will Smith’s new song “You Can Make It” lands in the Billboard charts

Don’t call it a comeback!

Will Smith returned to the music scene on Friday (June 28) with the empowering, faith-based single “You Can Make It,” and the record has officially entered the Billboard charts.

Following its first televised performance at the 2024 BET Awards, the anthem featuring Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir debuted at No. 3 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart and peaked at No. 23 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. It also appeared on the following charts: Gospel Digital Song Sales (No. 3), Christian Digital Song Sales (No. 6), Gospel Streaming Songs (No. 10), and Gospel Airplay (No. 28).

Speaking about the single, Smith said: Billboard“I’ve really been talking to myself. Seeing how many people share this intention gives me a clear North Star for this next chapter of my creative life.”

According to reports, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is working on a full album, but nothing is known about the musical direction yet.

During his appearance at the BET Awards, the Oscar winner stated: “I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but whatever is happening in your life, I’m here to tell you – you can do it.”

On the record, he raps about braving life’s adversaries. “Trying to heal, but the fight is hard/ And when God means business, you wonder if he’s listening/ So many trials for the flesh/ Exhausted, gasping for air/ Walking through the valley of the shadow of death/ And when you think you’ve got nothing left, keep moving,” raps the father of three.

The return to his roots comes two years after the infamous confrontation with Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars and follows the return of Big Willy weekends at the box office amid the success of Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
