Ferrari introduces battery replacement program to preserve performance and value

Ferrari, the legendary manufacturer of luxury sports cars, has announced two innovative battery swap programs aimed at preserving the performance and value of its hybrid vehicles. This strategic move underlines Ferrari’s commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards for its electric cars over the long term.

The newly introduced Hybrid and Power Hybrid extended warranty programs allow Ferrari hybrid vehicle owners to replace their high voltage batteries (HVB) in the eighth and 16th years of their vehicle. This proactive approach addresses the natural deterioration in battery efficiency that is critical to the long-term value of electric and hybrid vehicles.

Ferrari already offers a five-year warranty on hybrid powertrain components. The new programs, which are transferable to subsequent owners, are designed to ensure that hybrid Ferraris continue to deliver peak performance.

“With future developments in battery technology, the replacement HVB will be a new, state-of-the-art component that ensures the same performance as the original,” Ferrari explained. This commitment ensures that the cars will maintain their high performance even as battery technology evolves.

In addition, the programs offer options for extended factory warranties that cover the entire vehicle and key powertrain components. These packages, which can be extended for two to four years, cost around 7,000 euros ($7,530) annually. The programs also apply to Ferrari’s upcoming all-electric model, which is due to go on sale next year.

Since 2019, Ferrari has been using hybrid-electric technology in its models, including the SF90 Stradale and the 296 GTB and 296 GTS. The company is expected to launch its first fully electric vehicle in late 2025.

With these new programs, Ferrari reaffirms its commitment to innovation and excellence, giving hybrid car owners the confidence that their vehicles will retain their peak performance and value over time.
