TV series “Venus Prime” celebrates its premiere at Comic-Con

Volume Global, in association with Navajo Entertainment and Claxson Media, is pleased to announce that the television series adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime will be introduced to fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The special panel, titled “Jonathan Frakes Unveils ‘Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime’ TV Series,” will take place on Thursday, July 25th from 4:45-5:45 p.m. PT in Room 6BCF at the San Diego Convention Center.

The event will feature a number of renowned creators and producers, including director and executive producer Jonathan Frakes, known for his work on Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and The Librarians. Co-showrunners David Cormican (Tokyo Trials, Northern Rescue, ShadowHunters) and Dwayne Hill (Northern Rescue, Peg + Cat, Mean Girls) will be joined by executive producers Lucas Vivo Garcia Lagos (Franklin: Historia de un Billete, Pacto de Sangre, Psiconautas) and Christopher Rush-Harrington (Hostile Takeover, King of Killers) of Volume Global. The panel will be moderated by Comic-Con regular Gary Miereanu.

Fans of the acclaimed book series can look forward to an in-depth discussion of the upcoming television adaptation based on the novels by science fiction legend and Oscar®-nominated screenwriter Sir Arthur C. Clarke (“2001: A Space Odyssey”) and author Paul Preuss, who is also rumored to be attending. The panel will discuss the filmmakers’ decision to use virtual production techniques to bring this ambitious project to life.

Attendance for this event is limited to 2,000 fans. Those lucky enough to get a spot will receive a limited edition, numbered series poster featuring artwork by acclaimed comic book cover artist Raúl Allén. The panel will also feature a preview of the TV series’ logo clip, followed by a signing session with panelists and co-writer Paul Preuss. Details of the signing session will be announced later.

First published nearly 35 years ago with the release of Breaking Strain, the Venus Prime series has captivated readers since 1987. Concluding in 1991, the six-volume series was reissued in 2021 with a new cover by Vanessa Maynard, reigniting interest in this classic science fiction saga.

Both Comic-Con visitors and “Venus Prime” fans should not miss this unique opportunity to get an insight into one of the most eagerly awaited science fiction films of the year.
