MAGA Senate candidate falls for fake Taylor Swift ad for 2024

MAGA Senate candidate falls for fake Taylor Swift ad for 2024

MAGA candidate Royce White fell for a fake Taylor Swift ad for President Joe Biden on “X” — an embarrassing moment that marks the controversial Senate candidate’s latest faux pas.

The post shared on X included a doctored image of Swift next to the Biden-Harris 2024 logo and a quote that read: “I believe under her leadership, America has a chance to begin the healing process it so desperately needs.”

The Republican Senate candidate re-shared the post on Monday, adding, “Are people really that gullible? Wow! The gender reassignment healing process? #Goodluck.”

But the post wasn’t real.

Swift has not endorsed Biden or anyone else in this election cycle; the quote comes from an interview with V Magazine in 2020 and the image was edited to display the 2024 Biden-Harris campaign banner to make it appear that the pop star is supporting him this cycle.

This is not the first time that White – a former NBA player who is running to replace Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar in Minnesota – has spread misleading information about X.

He had previously published a map of water coolers in Minneapolis, which he falsely claimed was a map of crime in the city, which he described as “out of control.”

Last week, the controversial figure also spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories claiming that the “Jewish elite” controls the Federal Reserve during a rally at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

This came after sexist comments during an interview with Steve Bannon last year.

“Women have become too forward. As the black man in the room, I say that,” he said, adding that women’s labor is a fraud to double tax the American working class.

In 2022, White also wrote the words “Alex Jones was right” and “Deep State” on his head with a felt-tip pen during a BIG3 basketball game – a reference to far-right conspiracy theorist and Sandy Hook denier Alex Jones.

In the same year, he came under criticism for allegedly spending campaign funds at the Gold Rush Cabaret strip club in Miami.

Meanwhile, Swift has been unwittingly drawn into the 2024 election several times.

Last week, two Democratic Party insiders proposed a “blitz primary” to replace President Joe Biden on the party’s ballot with a little help from Swift. This came after The New York Times In January, it was reported that Biden was seeking Swift’s support in the race.

Donald Trump has also mentioned Swift several times. Virginia Republican Representative Ben Cline said The hill The former president said during a closed session with Republicans in the House of Representatives that he was “surprised” that Swift did not support him.

The Independent has asked White’s campaign team for comment.
