Chris Jericho talks about John Cena’s impending retirement from WWE

Chris Jericho has expressed his opinion on John Cena’s recent announcement.

During a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank in Toronto, John Cena told fans that WrestleMania 41 would be his last appearance as a wrestler. In the post-show press conference, he also stated that he wants to have his last fight in December 2025, after spending a full calendar year in WWE.

Jericho expects Cena to retire for good at the end of next year and is looking forward to seeing the final chapter written.

Appears on McGuire on WrestlingJericho praised Cena for the way he planned his retirement and his constant connection with the fans:

“My career has already been longer than John Cena’s (Jericho responded when the interviewer said he will have a career that lasts longer than Cena’s). No, I mean, it’s great. John has always loved wrestling and he has a great connection with the fans, so I think it’s a cool way to handle it. People know that’s what it is, and John is not the type to say anything lightly, so I’m sure he’s been focused on it and working with the company to make sure it’s right, and I’m sure it’s going to be a really great year and a half for Cena fans and for John Cena himself.”
