Former British world champion Chris Eubank Jr. has signed a contract with the promotional company Boxxer.

Eubank Jr., who defeated fellow countryman Liam Smith in his last fight, says he is now targeting “mega fights” with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

In September 2023, the 34-year-old outclassed Smith in their second middleweight meeting, avenging his loss in the first fight.

The fighter from Brighton, who now lives in Las Vegas in the USA, is a two-time winner of the IBO super middleweight world title and the WBA interim middleweight world title.

“I’m very excited to have signed with Boxxer and (promoter) Ben Shalom,” said Eubank Jr. “They fit the direction I want to go. We have big plans for the next 12 to 24 months.”

“There are big fights coming up and these guys can make them happen. It’s a partnership. I have the freedom and latitude to work the way I want, which is very rare.”

“I’m in a position of power. I’m able to really control the direction I want to go, so I’m excited.”

Eubank Jr. is frequently linked with a fight against Mexican WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF super middleweight titleholder Alvarez, saying it is a meeting “the fans want to see.”

He added: “I think I could win this fight. The fans want to see Canelo with guys who will put pressure on him, who won’t back down, who won’t back down and crumble under the pressure. The combat sports fans know I’m that kind of fighter.”

Shalom added: “We have had the privilege of working with Chris on some big fight nights in the UK and there are many more to come in the UK and around the world. He is a real pay-per-view star.”

“The hunger and ambition are there. We can’t wait to see him back in action and in some big fights.”
