Jon Bon Jovi mourns the loss of his mother Carol Bongiovi: “We will miss her very much”

Jon Bon Jovi mourns the death of his mother and honors her memory.

Carol Bongiovi died Tuesday at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, just three days before her 84th birthday.

“Our mother was a force to be reckoned with,” Bon Jovi said in a statement on behalf of his family. “Her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family. She will be greatly missed.”

Carol, who was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, was the founder of the official fan club for her Son’s legendary rock band Bon Jovias well as entrepreneur and veteran of the US Marine Corps.

At the service, Carol met her future husband, John Bongiovi Sr. The couple later moved to Sayreville, New Jersey, where they raised their family.

Carol leaves behind her husband of 63 years, as well as three sons and daughters-in-law: Jon Bon Jovi and Mrs DorotheaAnthony and Nina Yang Bongiovi and Matthew and Desiree Bongiovi – and eight grandchildren.

The sad news of Carol’s death comes less than two months after happy news for the family, because Bon Jovi’s 22-year-old son Jake Bongiovihas tied the knot with his girlfriend Millie Bobby Brown.

The Rocker confirmed reports about the couple’s secret wedding during an interview with BBC’s The One Show in May.

“They’re great, they’re absolutely amazing. It was a small family wedding, the bride looked gorgeous and Jake is over the moon,” Bon Jovi said during the interview.

Bon Jovi previously raved about his new daughter-in-law in April to The times from London.

“I’ve gotten to know her over the last year, she works really hard and she and Jake are going to grow together in their own ways,” Bon Jovi said of his son and Brown. “It’s an accelerated version of what I went through 40 years ago and I think with the support of the family around them, they’re going to be great together.”

Bon Jovi doesn’t mind that his son married young because he did. The singer ran away with his high school sweetheart Dorothea in Las Vegas in 1989 and has since had four children together.
