Eric Roberts has said he is not allowed to talk about his famous, Oscar-winning sister.

The actor, who has amassed more than 700 roles in a career spanning five decades, is the older brother of 56-year-old Hollywood star Julia Roberts, with whom he has had a difficult relationship over the years.

He also claimed that his daughter told him not to talk about her, adding: “I’m not supposed to talk about them, but I do.”

Eric proved this later in the interview when he praised Emma’s acting career. He said: “I am in love with my daughter’s work lately. I can’t believe how amazing she’s turned out. I’m so proud of her I can hardly see straight.”

The actress continued: “Since her performance in Maybe I’ll do it so far she just overwhelms me with pride and says, ‘Oh my God, here she goes again.’ And I’m just so happy to be her dad because she’s really giving it a blast. And I’m so proud.”
