    Man involved in morning disturbance faces multiple charges

    WADESBORO — In the early morning hours of June 23, neighbors on Mayflower Road were awakened by knocks on their doors. When they answered, residents reported finding a man allegedly intoxicated and using foul language at their door. The dispatch center was flooded with calls and at 4:52 a.m., Sergeant Mario El Kobersy arrived on Mayflower Road.

    WADESBORO – The first annual Miss King Elite beauty pageant opened with an invocation by Pastor Steve Adams of Harvest Ministries Outreach Center, where the event was held Saturday, June 29. Master of ceremonies and coach Stacey Huntley also served as the event’s pageant coordinator.

Studio 256 is a wonderland of creativity and the perfect place to hold a summer arts and crafts camp for kids, as owner Heather Edwards has done for the past few summers.

    Two local cheerleading teams reach the state championship

    ANSON – On June 9, 2024, 14 young ladies from two Anson County (KEA) teams traveled to Campbell University and competed in the state competition with cheerleaders from Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina. Xtreme Intensity, our national winners from last year, are undefeated as of 2023. They won the state competition this year and worked extremely hard. The newly formed Xtreme Starz team won second place and will also be traveling to Nationals. We look forward to two teams bringing home national titles in cheerleading this year.
