William Gary Taylor | News, Sports, Jobs

William Gary Taylor, 81, returned to his heavenly home of natural causes on July 3, 2024. Gary will always be remembered for his many, many, many different hobbies. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a great jewelry maker, loved trains, woodworking, metal detecting, geocaching, CB radios, and LOVED hot rod cars, especially his infamous 1923 “SUPERBEE.”

Gary was born on July 11, 1942 in Upalco, Utah to William Wayne Taylor and Drucilla Murphy. Grandma Dru always told us that Gary was such a beautiful baby and sweet child that people would stop them to look at him.

Gary grew up in Upalco, Utah until he was 15 years old when they moved to Roy, Utah. He later went back to Upalco to finish his degree where he met a beautiful cheerleader named Donna, whom he later married.

After marrying Donna, they moved to Ogden, Utah and then to Bountiful before settling in Roy to raise a family. As the children grew and moved away, Gary and Donna moved to Clinton and later found their retirement home in Roy.

Gary is survived by his son William Brent Taylor (daughter-in-law Judy Taylor) of Hooper, Utah and his daughter Sherilyn Taylor-Brown (son-in-law Michael Brown) of Clinton, Utah; his grandchildren Meagan, Cody, Brittnee, Bryson, Preston and Kiah; and nine great-grandchildren.

We will miss Dad and his big smile; he was always so happy when his friends and family came to visit. We pray he is in heaven driving around in a 1940 Willie’s Hot Rod and dancing the jitterbug with Mama.

Until we meet again, Dad, lots of love.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Hooper Cemetery. Go to the far east end of the cemetery.

Please join us for a luncheon following the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shenandoah Ward, 5375 South 5900 West, Hooper, UT 84315.

The arrangement has been entrusted to Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary.
