Taylor Swift asks fans in Switzerland for help

Taylor Swift asked stadium workers for help during her 10-minute song “All Too Well” at her first performance in Zurich, Switzerland, as the summer heat burned into the open-roof stadium.

On Tuesday the temperature in Zurich reached a maximum of 30 degrees.

“We need some help with this,” Swift said before singing, “Time flies, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it.”

Seconds later, the singer-songwriter repeated to the staff at Letzigrund Stadium: “Help back there, please.”

Although there are plenty of security guards and first responders stationed along the edge of the stage and throughout the arena handing out water and responding to emergencies, there is a vantage point from which the singer can see fans trying to get her attention by flashing lights and waving.

Swift acknowledged the hot temperatures as she greeted the audience at the beginning before singing the title song from the “Lover” era.

“I look at this crowd tonight and you guys decided to come out here, in the heat, in the blazing sun, and you’re still dancing like crazy,” she said. “That gets instant bonus points.”

The temperature dropped to just under 27 degrees during the concert, after reaching up to 32 degrees on Tuesday afternoon. The sun only disappeared over the edge of the stadium after more than an hour of the performance, after the combined “Folkmore” era.

Before the concert began, fans took photos and videos of large, foggy fans. Before Swift took the stage, staff handed out gold and silver reflective emergency blankets for fans to seek comfort under and later handed out water bottles.

We need help

Outside of the US tour, the stalls are usually free, meaning there are no chairs or assigned seats. Swift has frequently stopped her show in Europe to ask fans for help. Emergency workers usually hold glow sticks above their heads to push through the packed stalls. No major injuries have been reported during this leg of the tour, and the singer is not shy about alerting rescuers.

In Stockholm, before the acoustic part, Swift asked her fans if they held up lights to get their attention or if anyone needed help.

In Scotland, the singer noticed that a fan needed help and strummed her guitar until workers arrived at the desperate fan’s home.

In London she asked for support on several songs.

In Dublin, she alerted a fan that he needed help and then thanked the staff while changing outfits and singing “Lavender Haze.”

In Amsterdam she interrupted “All Too Well” three times.

The sold-out concert is Swift’s first-ever show in Switzerland. She has one more concert on Wednesday before heading to Milan, Italy on Saturday and Sunday.
