Fender launches Player II series basses

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) today announces the launch of the Player II Series – an update to Fender’s long-standing best-selling Player Series – designed for musicians ready to take the next step on their creative journey.

Since its launch in 2018, the Player Series has experienced nearly 30% year-on-year growth worldwide and is considered Fender’s best-selling electric guitar series of all time, boasting easily accessible features that both capture the imagination of new players and meet the demands of experienced guitarists alike. Available now, the Player II Series takes the best features of its predecessor and improves them with enhanced specifications such as rosewood fingerboards, modern “C” necks with rounded edges and new vintage colors from the archives that embody the innovation, culture, community and lifestyle that Fender® Electrics stands for.

“The Player II Series represents our continued evolution in design and functionality,” said Justin Norvell, EVP of Product, FMIC. “We’ve listened to feedback from musicians around the world and incorporated their insights into the improvement and innovation of our instruments. The reintroduction of rosewood fingerboards is a restoration of the ‘Original Fender Recipe’ and will no doubt be a fan favorite – but we didn’t want to stop there. We’ve also incorporated our rolled fingerboard edges for a broken-in feel, upgraded hardware, and some new body options too – underscoring our commitment to giving players and creators the tools they need to express their unique sound and style. The Player II Series isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a detailed reinterpretation of our core silhouettes that underscores our commitment to quality and the continuous improvement of our instruments.”

In addition, Player II offers new chambered ash and mahogany body options for the Player II Stratocaster and Telecaster models, available in October. Designed for musicians looking to improve their skills, the Player II series sets a new standard for quality and performance in the mid-price range. The series includes:
