Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is happily married to art gallery director Cooke Maroney. The two were introduced to each other by a mutual friend in 2018 and married a year later. They had their first child, Cy, in 2022.

In 2021, Lawrence said Vanity Fair that in her early relationship with Cooke she didn’t know what to do with her celebrity status.

“When I first started dating my now husband, I was so embarrassed to bring my (security guard) along when he asked me out. I mean, how awkward would that have been? So I didn’t, and it made me really nervous the first few times, but it turned out totally fine,” she said.

In a later podcast, she reiterated this statement, saying that being with Maroney gave her a space for normalcy.

“I used to have a stigma because I was nervous before going to restaurants or I felt like I couldn’t go to dive bars. There were just certain things, like, ‘Oh, I can’t do that,'” Jen Catt Sadler told her podcast in 2019. “And then in the last year, I just did all of that… Honestly, I was dating someone and I didn’t want to tell them about (my nervousness). I wanted to be normal and cool, so I just hid that part of me and ended up being OK. And I was like, ‘Oh, I can do that.’ It was cool.”
