The first robbery occurred just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Fruitvale Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. According to OPD, a group of minors approached a victim who was withdrawing money from an ATM before the victim was robbed of his belongings.

About two hours later, the same group of minors were involved in a shooting in the 1700 block of 27th Avenue, according to OPD. Police said the minors demanded that a grocery clerk hand over his items. The clerk complied, but “later attempted to disarm one of them.” Police said a struggle broke out between the two parties before the clerk was shot.

On Monday, just after 11:45 a.m., a third robbery occurred in the 500 block of 24th Street, according to OPD. Police said the group of minors approached a victim from behind, pushed him to the ground and stole the victim’s belongings.

Investigators believe there is a possibility that these minors are connected to a larger group involved in robberies throughout Oakland. The investigation is currently ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call (510) 238-3326.
