Now diversity reported that Brendan Gleeson (Mr Mercedes, The Banshees of Inisherin). Cage’s aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator from 1930s New York must come to terms with his former life as the city’s only superhero. Morris’ Robertson is a dedicated journalist who is ambitious, hardworking and a man who won’t take no for an answer. He tries to make it despite the odds as a black professional in 1930s New York. He takes on riskier stories that no one else would touch in order to attract attention and money. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to advance his career. Although Amazon declined to comment on the report, diversityAccording to sources, Gleeson was chosen for the role of the series’ villain.

Nicolas Cage talks about “Spider-Man Noir” https://bleedingcool.com/”Spider-Noir”

Speak with The New Yorker In an interview published today, Cage had some additional details to share about the series, which he said will consist of eight episodes. He describes the series as “more of a pop art mashup, like a Lichtenstein painting” that has “something sparkly about it,” noting that the violence in the series is more “fantasy” and that “there are monsters involved.”

For Cage, television offers more time to tell the story: “What interested me was the time I could take to express something. I saw Bryan Cranston in ‘Breaking Bad’ staring at a suitcase for half the episode. Just him on the floor staring at a suitcase and thinking, ‘What’s in there? Should I do this? Should I not do it?’ I thought, ‘We don’t have time for this in movies.’ So this seemed like an opportunity to open it up a little bit. I don’t know if the project I’m exploring right now has room for that. I think this is more of a popcorn entertainment episode on TV.

Cage already likes one thing about “Spider-Man Noir”: “I know the phone is going to be ringing off the hook about playing serial killers after ‘Longlegs’ (Cage’s upcoming horror film). And that’s not really what I like to do. I don’t like violence. I don’t want to play people who hurt other people. One of the things I like about this potential show is that it’s fantasy. It’s not really about people beating up other people. There are monsters involved.

Cage also mentioned during the interview that he was on his way to get his body scanned for Spider-Man Noir and another project, reiterating his fears: “They’re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital AI… God, I hope not AI, I’m terrified of that.” The actor has been very vocal about his fears about the impact AI could have on the creative, artistic experience. “I wonder where the artists’ truth will end up? Will it be replaced? Will it be transformed? Where will the heartbeat be? I mean, what are you going to do with my body and my face when I’m dead? I don’t want you to do anything with it!” he added.

Co-developer of the series Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Phil Lord, Christopher MillerAnd Amy Pascal also co-developed the series and will serve as executive producer (Pascal, via Pascal Pictures) – with Harry Bradley executive producer and director of the first two episodes. Spider-Man Noir will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel, with a worldwide release on Prime Video to follow.
