Who was the Menudo singer Adrián Olivares?

Adrián Olivares was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1976.

He joined the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo in 1990 before leaving the group in 1993.

During his time with the group, they released the albums “15 Años,” “Detras Tu Mirada,” and “Dancin’ Movin’ Shakin’.”

According to Distractify, Adrián’s friend and former bandmate Robert Avellanet was the first to announce his death via social media.

In an Instagram post dated July 8, 2024, the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter wrote next to a portrait photo of the younger Adrián: “I’m still in shock!”

“Strength to his family. I wish your soul a smooth transition. I will always remember his great sense of humor. We will meet his brother. RIP Adrián.”

The cause of Adrián’s death is currently unknown.

Did Adrián Olivares have children?

Adrián has a daughter named Eliana Rose Olivaras, who posted a tribute to her late father on Instagram on July 8, 2024.

“I am at a loss for words. Dad, I love you forever. You have shown me love, guidance, strength and many other things I would not know without you,” she wrote alongside a series of photos with Adrián.

“I still can’t get over the fact that you’re gone and that I can’t hug you or tell you how much I love you. You’re the best father a girl could ask for.

“I know you are in God’s hands and I am so grateful to have you as my guardian angel.

“I love you forever daddy ♾️👼🏻,” Eliana continued, adding a pink heart emoji.

It is unclear whether Adrián had any other children.

Who was in Menudo?

Menudo was formed in 1977 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is considered the “most iconic Latin pop band”.

The Latino pop band was founded by music producer and songwriter Edgardo Díaz.

The original members included Fernando Sallaberry, Nefty Sallaberry, Ricky Meléndez, Carlos Meléndez and Óscar Meléndez.

According to Variety, there were over 30 boys in the band within 20 years, as Díaz “was known to exclude members of Menudo as soon as they reached puberty.”

As Yahoo! reported on Women’s Health, other members included Ricky Martin, Johnny Lozada, René Farrait and Miguel Cancel.

In addition to Adrián and Robert, other members included singers such as Roy Rosselló and Ray Reyes.

Billboard reported that Menudo announced new members in March 2023, including Nicolas Calero, Gabriel Rossell, Andres Emilio, Alejandro Querales and Ezra Gilmore.
