Jo Niederhoff from Portland Book Review also said that the book “is not intentionally strange, as is the case with many Christian books.” Niederhoff rated the book 4 out of 5 stars and said that Sheets “is a very good author. Biography of the author:

Thomas Fitzhugh Sheets is an eighty-year-old semi-retired businessman who, despite never going to college, has had a reasonably successful career. He now lives on Providence Farm in Bedford County, Virginia, and currently operates a cattle operation raising calves for the feedlot market. During discussions with a friend, a retired minister and a Navy chaplain who has decided he is “done with the church,” Tom was challenged to write a book. His friend understood his ongoing frustration with the message and direction of the established church and felt that many others shared this frustration. Tom, who cares about the loss within the church, believes that the church has been hijacked by the mass of those who want their needs met immediately. Therefore, he felt challenged to address this issue, and as a result of this challenge, The Road to Restoration, The Death of the Promise, and The Resurrection of The Promised were created.
