Popular summer concert series “Lakeside Live at Lexington Green” in Lexington, Kentucky, announces its return after abrupt cancellation

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (FOX 56) – Nearly eight weeks after Lakeside Live announced its cancellation for the remainder of summer 2024, organizers say they have “regrouped, revitalized and revitalized.”

Lakeside Live is a free summer concert series that has brought regional artists to Lexington Green since 2016. On May 21, organizers announced on Facebook that the remainder of the 2024 season would be canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” That post has since been removed.

On Monday, Lakeside Live released a countdown video announcing the series’ return after an eight-week hiatus on July 12. Organizers credited the comeback with help from The 15 Club, a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) partner of the University of Kentucky Athletics.

“Summer is better with live music,” Lakeside Live organizers said on Facebook. “Reformed. Revived. Revitalized. Our concert series is happening this summer, brought to you by The 15 Club!”

FOX 56 contacted organizers in May about the cancellation and received no response, but did speak to one of the bands scheduled to play the following weekend.

“We’ve been playing in Lexington for seven or eight years because of Lakeside Live. It’s always been close to our hearts,” said Zack Fresh of Zack Attack. “Hopefully we can all come together and do what we can to bring it back soon.”

FOX 56 has reached out to Lakeside Live and The 15 Club for more details about their partnership, but has not yet received a response.
