Authorities have arrested a convicted felon who allegedly armed himself and broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home in Novato, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

A witness accused him of committing the crime on Indian Springs Road on Friday. Authorities said the suspect was carrying a semi-automatic pistol, pushed the woman aside and searched the house for another man.

Petaluma police later pursued and arrested the suspect, a Petaluma resident. The sheriff’s office said a loaded, unregistered firearm was found in the suspect’s vehicle and another unregistered firearm was discovered in his home.

Justin Kiesselbach, 38, was arrested for burglary, display of a firearm and illegal possession of a weapon. He was booked into the Marin County Jail without bail set.
