10 West Michigan companies will receive grants totaling around ,000

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Several West Michigan businesses have received funding through the state’s Match on Main program.

The program offers up to $25,000 to businesses opening or expanding on their community’s Main Street.


According to a memo from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, 113 businesses from 80 communities applied for the program this year. A total of 31 businesses – including 15 restaurants – received grants totaling about $748,000.

Grant recipients included several West Michigan companies:

  • Mosaic Distillery in Plainwell, $25,000
  • Hart Pizza in Hart, $25,000
  • Tilt 118, LLC in Allegan, $25,000
  • McDuff’s Bar and Grille in Wayland, $21,670
  • Hope Café (by the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence) in Coldwater, $20,278
  • Layla’s Cool Pops, Inc. in Kalamazoo, $25,000
  • My damn pizza in Sturgis, $25,000
  • Watermark Brewing Company, LLC in Stevensville, $22,157
  • The Be Hyve Collection in Cassopolis, $25,000
  • Coastal Blue in South Haven, $25,000

“Small businesses are the cornerstone of what makes Michigan’s downtowns authentic. They bring vibrancy and contribute to a community’s sense of place,” the MEDC memo states.
