The Members Club grant supports Warrior Homes’ goal of ending veteran homelessness in Collier County

The Members Club at Marco, a private golf club north of the island, has awarded Warrior Homes of Collier a $28,500 grant to support the nonprofit’s efforts to provide assisted living for local veterans.

Proceeds from the club’s spring “Champions for Charities” event will support Warrior Homes of Collier’s efforts to end veteran homelessness in Collier County, said Dale Mullin, a retired Vietnam veteran who serves as the nonprofit’s founder and president.

“As one of our earliest supporters, the Members Club in Marco has long shared our core belief that no veteran in need is left behind in Collier County,” Mullin said. “This generous donation is a critical support for the brave men and women of our community who have served their country with valor and honor.”

Warrior Homes of Collier operates four residential homes for local veterans: Alpha House, a short-term transitional housing facility for people in substance abuse rehabilitation; Bravo and Charlie Houses, which serve seniors on fixed incomes and rent subsidies (known as assisted living); and Delta House, a 10-apartment assisted living complex for up to 20 veterans, both men and women.

In addition to providing veterans with a roof over their heads, Warrior Homes of Collier provides support services such as mental health counseling and peer support through the David Lawrence Centers, as well as educational opportunities including college scholarships.

The Members Club of Marco is home to two golf courses in southeast Naples: Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club and The Rookery at Marco. Both lie in the shadow of the Jolley Bridge, which connects the island to the mainland.
