Eminem is seen in a body bag on the cover of “The Death of Slim Shady”

The new album is due to be released on Friday.

Eminem’s head pokes out of a body bag on the cover of his new album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” which was unveiled on social media on Tuesday. The album is set to hit streaming services on Friday.

The cover features Eminem’s surprised face – with his eyes and mouth open, his hair dyed blonde in the classic Slim Shady style – under a black body bag zipped up to his neck.

The album title in the lower left corner is in the same comic book font as 1999’s The Slim Shady LP. There is a parental warning symbol in the upper right corner of the cover.

It’s been a rough week in terms of Eminem’s deaths. On Monday, the video for his new collaboration with Big Sean and BabyTron, “Tobey,” premiered. It features Eminem being attacked from behind by a hockey-masked Slim Shady, who then rams a chainsaw into Eminem’s body, creating a geyser of digital blood.

Will Slim prevail or Eminem? Hopefully the album will provide some answers.

“The Death of Slim Shady” is Eminem’s 12th studio album and his first since 2020’s “Music to Be Murdered By”.

The set was announced in April, the same night Eminem performed at the NFL Draft in downtown Detroit.

The first single, “Houdini,” was released in May and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Due to its unscheduled release on July 3, “Tobey” appeared on this week’s charts in a shortened period, landing at number 95 on the Hot 100. In the first 24 hours, the video was viewed over 3.2 million times on YouTube.
