Last week, Sam’s Club submitted its site plan to the City of Lebanon, which signed a purchase agreement for the land designated for construction of the proposed new store.

The Lebanon City Council on Tuesday evening, June 18, unanimously approved on first reading a public infrastructure construction agreement between Endeavor Partners, LLC and the City of Lebanon to widen Willard Drive and Hagan Way, which will allow Sam’s Club to move forward with its new project here in Lebanon.

Mayor Rick Bell said, “This infrastructure project is a strategic move for us as it aligns with our goal of building a robust retail center at our main entrance.”

The Lebanon City Council unanimously approved the agreement on second reading at a special meeting of the Lebanon City Council on Thursday, June 20. Road construction for this project has already begun.

“The success of the project will also allow us to attract more retail stores and restaurants to Lebanon, further enhancing the attractiveness of our city,” said Sarah Haston, economic development director, who presented the Soaring Eagle project at the last work session along with city transportation engineer Kristen Rice and public services commissioner Jeff Baines.

The project could potentially create around 155 jobs, provide a significant boost to Lebanon’s local economy and fill a major gap in the supply of goods and services to the community.

The tentative plan calls for Sam’s Wholesale Club to open in 2026. This timeline depends on road construction and whether the opening will span two winter seasons.

“We applaud the Mayor and City Council for their commitment to infrastructure investments that will enable future retail development. This is an important first step in bringing Sam’s Club to Lebanon, a community we serve with great confidence,” Sam’s Club said.
