Summary: Brand Nu Apparel, Bob Dylan, Greens Farms Garden Club …

Westport has a brand new pop-up clothing Business.

It’s called – coincidentally – Brand Nu Apparel.

Located at 170 Post Road West (across from Kings Highway Elementary School), Bran Nu “combines the best of sportswear and streetwear for men and women,” according to a press release.

It will “revolutionize how we express individuality and creativity through fashion.”

Brand Nu is the latest project from Marcello DeAguero. The professional breakdancer, DJ and fitness trainer is very well known in the region.

The grand opening is on Saturday (July 13, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.). There will be competitions, an entertainment program and a 20% discount on the entire range.

Follow @brandnuapparel.official to enter to win prizes.

Last weekend, songs from Folk Sunday blew in the wind for the first time in the series’ new home.

The Saugatuck Rowing Club hosted the monthly concert. Host Suzanne Sheridan, Tim DeHuff and Bob Cooper played songs by Bob Dylan and told stories about the singer and his music.

With the beautiful views, the great bar menu and the glorious sunshine, it was an afternoon that made you feel forever young.

Greens Farms Garden Club’s Growing for Good initiative was launched in 2021. It provides women and their families with fresh, organically grown herbs and vegetables.

Last summer, the project donated over 818 pounds of harvest to the Mercy Learning Center.

In October, the club received an Award of Excellence for Civic Development from the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.

They are now available nationwide.

Greens Farms Garden Club recently received a national “Best of the Best” award from Espoma Company for its ongoing work and use of the company’s organic plant fertilizer and potting soil.

They are also on track to exceed last year’s harvest. Congratulations to everyone!

“Westport…Naturally” often features beautiful flowers and/or cool looking creatures.

But nature takes many forms – including non-native plants and animals.

The tree of heaven is a highly invasive species. It reproduces rapidly, displacing native species with its dense thickets and secreting a chemical into the soil that is toxic to surrounding plants.

Spotted lanternflies also love it.

Trees of heaven can be seen everywhere. Here they grow quickly at Compo Beach:
