Unfortunately, many cases remain unsolved for various reasons. The case of Adele Marie Wells is a case here in Michigan that goes back to 21 November 1958 This makes it the oldest unsolved missing child case in Michigan. Details of the case are scarce, but this is the story courtesy of the Charley Project.

Adele Marie Wells Story

On the morning of November 21, 1958, second-grader Adele was home sick and couldn’t go to school. Later that day, she felt better and went to school after all. Her grandmother’s house was on the way to school, so she stopped by to say hello. Little did anyone know that this would be the last time her family would see her.

The police report describes a “young man carrying a little girl to a dirty black Chevrolet.” It was never confirmed that he was the kidnapper, but several children claimed that someone matching that description had tried to lure them into the vehicle a few days earlier.

Description

Adele will not look the same as she did when she was kidnapped at age 7, but Adele’s general appearance will be the same. She is an African American woman with black hair and brown eyes. Below is an age-appropriate rendering of what she might look like today at age 69. If you have any information, please submit a tip here.
