I want to be in love
Kevin Costner would “like to be in love”.
The 69-year-old actor and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner finalized their divorce earlier this year – but Kevin remains open to the possibility of finding true love in the future.
When asked if he could imagine falling in love again, the actor told PEOPLE: “Yeah, I think everyone would like to be in love.
“There’s such a good feeling associated with it. It might need to be defined differently, but yes, I love the idea of that possibility.
“I will not allow my heart to be hardened.”
Kevin also revealed that his children were his top priority during his separation from Christine.
The award-winning actor, who shares custody of his three youngest children – Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14 – with his ex-wife, admitted that the situation has been difficult to deal with.
Kevin, who has seven children, said: “You just keep talking, you keep training (the kids), you keep being interested in what they’re interested in… I had to.”
Meanwhile, Kevin recently confessed that his life changed when he “listened to his heart.”
The actor studied at California State University, Fullerton in the 1970s, but a change in his attitude triggered a dramatic turnaround in his fate.
Speaking to PEOPLE, the Hollywood star explained: “The confidence came when I listened to my heart, right at the end of college, when I thought, ‘I’m not going to worry about what people think anymore.’
“There was no guarantee of success, but a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. I started driving to Hollywood every day, parking my little trailer next to a phone booth and sleeping in a kind of fetal position. I didn’t know anyone.”
