Travis Kelce nods to Taylor Swift with the “Fearless” friendship bracelet

Travis Kelce knows it’s nice to have a friend…ship bracelet.

The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end wore a bracelet that read “Fearless” – a reference to his girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s second album — while strolling through Cannes with his brother on Thursday, June 20, Jason Kelceand sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce.

Travis also wore a bracelet that read “Cannes” to honor both the French city and the festival of the same name that he and 36-year-old Jason were in town for.

The brothers appeared on their podcast “New Heights” at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Thursday. Travis’ bracelets were seen in videos circulating on social media and in a close-up photo shared by People.

Friendship bracelets have become an integral part of Swift’s fan base, especially her Epoch Tour appearances. They also played a role in the development of the romance between Travis and Swift. After Travis became Swift’s Epoch Tour Stopping at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, he recalled being sad about not being able to meet the pop star.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t speak before and after her performances because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings. I wanted to give her (a bracelet) with my number on it,” he said on his podcast.

Two months later, Swift showed up at a Chiefs game at the same stadium where Travis had seen her play, laying the foundation for the pair’s relationship. Swift later revealed that she “started hanging out with Travis” “right after” he publicly admitted to giving her his phone number via a friendship bracelet.

“It all started when Travis grilled me in a very charming way on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift said during her December 2023 Time Magazine interview.

Thursday isn’t the first time Travis has worn the Swift-like accessory. At the March press conference where Jason announced his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis wore a bracelet that spelled out his name and another that consisted of the letters “T” separated by a heart, apparently a nod to his and Swift’s shared initial.

The athlete also hilariously accepted a bracelet that read “on the map” – a reference to viral jokes that Swift’s relationship with the NFL star boosted his popularity – while cheering on Jason at an Eagles game in October 2023. In a viral TikTok video, Travis laughed after a fan handed him the bracelet.
