McDonald’s SG partners with local singer Tosh Rock for Chicken McCrispy ASMR rap

McDonald’s Singapore has teamed up with local singer and actor Tosh Zhang (also known as Tosh Rock) to release a song to launch the fast-food chain’s Chicken McCrispy and celebrate the brand’s Fried Chicken Week.

The song, available on McDonald’s Instagram and Facebook as well as Zhang’s Instagram and TikTok, uses the ASMR experience to highlight the crispy, juicy and non-spicy qualities of the chicken offering.

The song’s lyrics also praise other offerings from McDonald’s Singapore, including the McFizz drink and the ChocoBanana Pie dessert. Zhang also raps about how he would love to share the Chicken McCrispy with his friends.

There is a music video for the song in which the singer can be seen enjoying Chicken McCrispy at home in his studio and at a McDonald’s branch.

The music video also shows the singer using a box of Chicken McCrispy, a McFizz and a McDonald’s paper bag to create the song’s beat.

“Zhang delivered a fun, creative ASMR music video all about Chicken McCrispy. From crunching the Chicken McCrispy, tapping the box, crinkling the delivery bags, to sipping our Peach McFizz, viewers can vicariously enjoy the latest menu selections and incredible deals available to them,” a McDonald’s spokesperson said when contacted by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

The campaign comes after McDonald’s sent fans to search for missing paintings in Singapore.

The campaign was also intended to excite customers and introduce them to the fast-food restaurant’s new, non-spicy Chicken McCrispy.

The winners who managed to find the missing artwork were rewarded with five free sets of two of the Chicken McCrispy Signature Extra Value Meal.
