Wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett says Taylor Swift looked after his daughters while her wife battled cancer

Wrestling icon Jeff Jarrett talks about the great support he says Taylor Swift cared for his family during a difficult time.

During an interview on WREG’s Live at 9 on Friday, July 5, Jarrett, who now competes for All Elite Wrestling, recalled how the 34-year-old pop star spent time with his three daughters while his wife, Jill Gregory, battled breast cancer. Swift’s presence brought comfort and joy to the family during this difficult time.

The 56-year-old WWE Hall of Famer shared warm memories of Swift’s kindness, calling her a “family friend” who “was very good to our family during a very, very dark time.”

“Taylor was like a big sister,” Jarrett recalled. “She would come over, take the girls out to bake cookies and just hang out at our house. I can’t say enough good things about Taylor.”

Gregory died in May 2007, seven months after the release of Swift’s eponymous debut album. Despite the sadness of that time, Jarrett cherishes the bond between Swift and his daughters Joslyn, Jaclyn and Jerlyn.

While Swift’s fame has skyrocketed since those early days, Jarrett enjoys keeping up with her journey. “She’s just a sweetheart. I still call her ‘our girl’ and now she hangs out in the NFL circles,” he said, referring to Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Jarrett stressed that Swift’s acts of kindness were purely out of the goodness of her heart and not motivated by financial reasons. “I can tell you right now that she was never on Jeff Jarrett’s payroll,” he explained. “So technically she wasn’t a babysitter.”

The deep bond between Swift and Jarrett’s daughters became clear when Jaclyn appeared in the music video for Swift’s song “Mine” in 2010. Jarrett recalled the experience and told Combative 2011: “The ‘Mine’ video is so creative and my daughter Jaclyn looked like a little Taylor. Taylor, as brave as ever, simply said, ‘I want Jaclyn in the video.'”

Jarrett happily agreed and the family traveled to Maine to film. “You had to hand over your cell phone and all that stuff on set. It was a good experience for the kids,” he recalls.

Reflecting on the music video, Jarrett praised Swift’s remarkable talent and business acumen. “Not only is she extremely creative as an artist, but she also thinks like a businesswoman,” he said. “It’s rare to see those two skills combined. She deserves all the success she’s having.”

Cut to the presentKelce attended Swift’s third and final Eras tour show in the Netherlands on Saturday and was seen teary-eyed as Swift performed a special surprise song mashup seemingly dedicated to him.

Swift – who has used her surprise song sets in recent months to mix some of her biggest hits – performed a medley of “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)” by Taylor Swiftft, “So High School” by The “Tortured Poets” sectionand “Everything has changed” by Red.

Fans immediately realized that the song combination was likely dedicated to Kelce, as the lyrics of each song allude to their relationship. “I’ll be 87, you’ll be 89,” Swift sings in “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My),” which many interpreted as his jersey number 87 with the Chiefs and the couple’s birth year of 1989. In the second song, Swift sings, “You know how to play, I know Aristotle.” The third song references a love that changes a person’s perspective on life.

In the comments on the video, fans showered love on the viral video and celebrated the relationship between Swift and Kelce, whose love story began a year ago, on July 8, 2023.

“Thank you for not guarding this. So beautiful 😍 they are so in love ❤️,” one person wrote.

“I can’t imagine how emotional it must be for him to see his love perform for him and thousands of others who adore her. I would be emotional too,” another fan shared.

Kelce – the together with teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes – appeared to wipe a tear from her face as Brittany looked after her, clearly seeing that her friend was having a tender moment.

On the weekend when Kelce also attended Swift’s show on Friday nightthe NFL star and singer were ravishingly caught kissing as they left the Johan Cruijff Arena.

The sweet interactions come a full year after Swift and Kelce’s love story began with her performance on the Eras Tour in July 2023 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Last year, she foresaw their own future by sharing pictures from her Fourth of July party and joking that the gathering was a celebration for all “independent” girls, only to then add that she would be traveling to Missouri next.

A year later, the two have become one of the hottest couples ever, with Kelce recently his stage debut at the Eras Tour in London And Appearances at countless concerts around the world to support his girlfriend.

A source recently told ET how the “So High School” singer and her NFL star boyfriend made his surprise appearance at Wembley Stadium and how the experience has connected them as a couple.

“It was definitely a new turning point in their relationship and they had a blast showing the world a very personal side of themselves,” the source said. “They are so happy with how everything turned out and have loved the reaction from fans.”

The source added: “It was a very special experience for her and also gives clues as to what her future might hold for her.”
