Camila Cabello said the “Hotline Bling” rapper “really liked” her new album and ended up contributing two songs: “Hot Uptown” and “Uuugly”

Fans will hear guest appearances from Drake on not one, but two tracks from Camila Cabello’s upcoming fourth studio album, C,XOXO.

The 27-year-old singer of “Havana” spoke in a new cover interview with Billboardand announced that the “Hotline Bling” rapper will be featured on the song “Hot Uptown” and will perform solo on an interlude called “Uuugly.”

“Why does he have his own song? Because I just want to hear Drake on my own album for selfish reasons,” Cabello told the outlet “Uuugly,” on which she provides background vocals. “I love that for me – it’s like this rebellious vibe. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his shit.”

More artists on C,XOXO The stars include Playboi Carti, Lil Nas X, The-Dream, City Girls and BLP Kosher – but Cabello said Drake was “the fucking GOAT” and getting him on the album “felt like reaching for the stars.”

The former Fifth Harmony singer initially contacted him via direct message on Instagram. “I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it,” she said, adding that the collaboration “came out of a non-business setting.”

“He had this idea for a song called ‘Hot Uptown’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami,” Cabello explained.

The Grammy-nominated musician had already announced the collaboration in an interview on Call her daddy Podcast in which she talks about the viral photos from her jet ski trip with the rapper in the Turks and Caicos Islands in December.

“Well, first of all, I wouldn’t say it was just a vacation. It was a vacation plus work,” Cabello said of the photos. “But I say, you know what? I love this man, I love him.”

At the time, she described her trip as a “buddy-friends trip.”

“I love him so much and I really listened to him a lot during the writing process for my album and I really thought he would like my album… So I DMed him and said, ‘Hey, I’d love to play you my album. I really think you would really like it.’ Because I listen to him a lot and I really feel like we like a lot of the same things musically,” Cabello said.

“It was such a surreal moment to play my songs for Drake,” she added on the podcast. “It’s another one of those things where you think, wow, I never expected this to happen. It’s a dream. And he’s so generous and so kind.”
