Michigan Football receives commitment from Elite 2025 TE

Penn State is the biggest program in the Keystone State, but even it can’t get them all. Maybe it’s a compromise considering Michigan football couldn’t get Theo Johnson from nearby Windsor, Ontario.

Four-star tight end Andrew Olesh, a Center Valley (Pennsylvania) Southern Lehigh native, seemed to be leaning toward the Nittany Lions for some time, although he also considered the Wolverines, Alabama, Florida and Ole Miss. As the 2025 cycle progressed, however, his recruitment began to trend toward the maize and blue, and ultimately, Michigan’s persistence appears to have paid off, with Olesh committing to the Wolverines just weeks after his official visit during Victors Weekend.

Here’s how Olesh ranks in the recruitment services rankings:

Olesh was greeted by star tight end Colston Loveland during his official visit. Tight ends coach Steve Casula was his primary recruiter for Michigan.

Here is the scouting report from Greg Biggins of 247Sports:

Big, athletic WR who is projected to be a TE in college. Productive junior season with 53 catches for 972 yards and 10 TDs. Looks 6’5 and has the build to carry extra weight when he gets to college. Has huge hands and is one of the more natural pass catchers in this year’s class. Runs well and shows both initial quickness on his releases and the speed needed to outrun a secondary. Lines up mostly on the outside and is a smooth pass catcher who can change pace and knows how to set up a defender. Has a nice start on his breaks and can break away late. Great catch radius due to his length and ability to use his hands and runs well after the catch. Doesn’t need to block much right now and adding some bulk and strength should be a priority, but he shows a lot of potential and should be a tough target for opposing linebackers and safeties at the next level.

Olesh is 6’5″ and 215 pounds. He also had offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others. He is Michigan’s second tight end for the 2025 class, joining Eli Owens.
