Kenyon Dixon releases new song “Far Way”: Listen

Kenyon Dixon may be on tour, but that doesn’t stop him from releasing new songs. The Grammy-nominated singer is back with his new song “Far Away.”

“Far Away,” co-produced by Dixon and Frank Rose, is a breezy R&B song about two lovers escaping their daily lives to enjoy each other’s company.

“We can go anywhere you want / What you wanna do? / It doesn’t matter / Let me know / I don’t really care as long as we go together, baby,” Dixon sings.

“Far Away” is the follow-up to “Still,” another groovy song released in May. “This record, for me, is a celebration of the timeless essence of true R&B,” Dixon told Rated R&B about “Still.”

He added: “You often hear a lot of complaints about the lack of tempo in R&B music, or how when the music has tempo, it no longer feels like traditional R&B. This one, however, has the energy and never loses its soul. (It) captures the carefree mood of those R&B summers we remember.”

Both “Far Away” and “Still” appear on The R&B you love: For the 99s and 2000sthe second part of the deluxe edition of Dixon’s 2023 album, The R&B you love.

In the spring, Dixon published The R&B love: Soul of the 70s, the first part of the deluxe edition.

“These parts of the deluxe version are absolutely intentional. I’m a huge fan of the music that got us here. I always want to find a way to pay tribute to our musical pioneers and heroes,” Dixon told Rated R&B.
