Turks and Caicos have long been a popular destination for Hollywood’s biggest stars. Justin and Hailey Bieber regularly spend the New Year in the island’s secluded beachfront villas. Last April, the Kardashians posted dozens of bikini photos against the island’s crystal-clear turquoise waters. And on any given night, Drake is likely to be spotted at one of Provo’s many star-studded nightclubs. He’s so in love with Turks and Caicos that he’s featured on an entire playlist of his songs.

But what exactly makes Turkey the most popular destination for Hollywood’s biggest stars? Aside from the obvious answers – stunning white-sand beaches, consistently warm climate, coral reefs teeming with marine life – it’s the island’s luxurious, secluded resorts that give it an edge over other tropical vacation destinations.

There are dozens of luxury resorts scattered throughout the Turks and Cayuga Islands, but Grace Bay Resorts (GBR) on Providenciales is the undisputed leader when it comes to offering the rare luxury amenities craved by the world’s most elite jet-set group.

Gary James

The world-famous Grace Bay Club is the developer’s flagship property and features 136 oceanfront suites located along a 330-meter stretch of beach in the heart of Grace Bay. But in the past year alone, GBR has added even more luxury resorts to its portfolio. Rock House, opening in 2022, is one of their latest developments. Nestled into the rugged, pristine limestone cliffs of Providenciales’ north coast, the luxury resort offers 46 oceanfront villa-style accommodations inspired by the famous cliff houses of the Amalfi Coast.

And starting in November, GBR will officially begin accepting reservations for South Bank by Windward, the first-of-its-kind oceanfront resort and marina on the Caicos Bank. It will feature the first offshore swimming lagoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands, providing guests with a protected area for swimming and play in addition to the open ocean.

But don’t let the dizzying amount of options scare you away from deciding before your next trip. Check out four of the best Grace Bay resorts in Turks and Caicos below, one of which is sure to be the perfect fit for you – whether it’s a six-bedroom villa for a party with friends or a charming one-bedroom suite for a romantic getaway.

Grace Bay Club

Each of the Grace Bay Club’s 136 suites is located directly on the ocean. Depending on your travel style, you can choose between three different types of accommodation.

The largest suite, The Estate, is what is known as a “resort within a resort,” with each unit featuring 4-5 bedrooms, a private oceanfront terrace and courtyard, an extravagant kitchen, and exclusive pools and cabanas. When Drake talks about “Turks Villas,” this is what he means.

But if you’re planning a romantic getaway like the Biebers, opt for the hotel’s charming adults-only suites. Each suite includes a kitchenette and a private patio or porch with ocean views. Adults-only amenities include a pool and hot tub just steps away.

Traveling with the family, Kardashian style? The Villas Suites offer fine resort accommodations in an elegant, family-friendly setting. All suites, from one to four bedrooms, feature a private oceanfront terrace or patio, fully equipped kitchens and family-friendly pools.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a luxury resort without dozens of fine dining options. Grace Bay’s seven dining venues offer something for every taste, diet and age group (especially The Grill, which offers a full kids’ menu). Other options include sexy tapas and cocktails at Infinity Bar, tacos on the beach at Just Tacos, gourmet seafood at Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar and, of course, exotic drinks at the Pool Bar (which offers 40 different Caribbean rums).

Prices start at $700 per night.

Private Villa Collection

Nothing offers a better glimpse into the lives of the super-rich than Grace Bay’s Private Villa Collection, a compilation of some of Turkey’s finest freestanding private beach villas. Each of the multi-million dollar residences sits directly on the beach and features private pools and up to 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space. But it’s the amenities you’ll find in these palatial villas that will completely amaze even those with the deepest pockets. Amenities include personal butler service, two complimentary private SUV transfers from the airport and daily housekeeping.

The collection currently includes 10 different villas that accommodate up to 12 guests and prices start from $10,000 per night: Legasea Villa, Villa Frangipani, Graceful Living, Villa Portofino, Seascape, Seaclusion, Sundog Villa, Turtle Inlet Private Villa, La Dolce Vita and Kisiwa House.

Prices start at $10,000 per night.

Rock House

Rock House is the “Caribbean Capri,” according to Mark Durliat, CEO and Director of GBR, who designed the brand-new luxury resort after being inspired by his travels to Italy and the South of France. Opening in 2022, the residential resort is nestled into the rugged, pristine limestone cliffs of Providenciales’ north coast and features 46 oceanfront villa-style accommodations.

Among the many chic amenities, guests can enjoy access to the exclusive Beach Club at Rock House, where guests can dine oceanfront, led by Executive Chef Dennis Boon. In February, Bagatelle, the world-renowned restaurant and beach club, hosted a pop-up at the resort’s iconic Vita Restaurant and Cliff Side Cave Bar, where guests could enjoy dinner and brunch unlike any other on the island.

And when guests want to relax after a day of activities, they can head to the resort’s 30-meter infinity pool, which is surrounded by loungers and umbrellas and overlooks the island’s famous crystal blue waters. Other wellness amenities include in-room massages, yoga classes, and walking and jogging trails.

Rates start at $655 per night.

South bank

South Bank represents a new way of living by the sea, which Windward co-founder Ingo Reckhorn describes as a place where “the connection to the water is more than just a view – it’s a way of life.”

The first-of-its-kind oceanfront resort and marina stretches across the scenic Caicos Bank and features 92 resort villas, sky villas and boathouse residences ranging from one- to six-bedroom waterfront homes. The highlight is an ocean swimming lagoon, the first in the Turks and Caicos, allowing guests to swim in a protected area and in the open ocean while enjoying views of the surrounding white-sand beach and palm-fringed island.

Spanning 31 acres and 2,200 feet of ocean frontage, South Bank is so expansive that it is comprised of four distinct “neighborhoods” (Ocean Estate Villas, Lagoon Villas, The Boathouses and Arc), each of which is a self-contained waterfront retreat. However, when guests find enough company to leave their enclaves, they can enjoy the neighborhood’s many amenities, such as two swimming pools, a beachfront fire pit, fitness center, tennis court and more.

Prices start at $888 per night.
