A Naperville man was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his ex-wife to death during an argument, police said.

A day after the stabbing in the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive, Naperville police on Sunday obtained an arrest warrant for 55-year-old Zokir S. Kudratov. On Saturday, officers were called to a residence around 9:37 a.m. because a patient was not breathing. There they found several people, including a woman who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times, authorities previously said.

Officers learned that an argument had broken out between Kudratov and his ex-wife, who lived in the apartment but on a different floor. Kudratov allegedly stabbed his ex-wife “multiple times” with a knife he was carrying, authorities said.

Shortly after the stabbing, emergency responders arrived at the residence and took the victim to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:49 p.m. Kudratov was arrested and taken to the hospital before being booked into the DuPage County Jail.

As of Monday, the DuPage County Coroner’s Office had not released the victim’s name.

He was due to appear in court for a detention hearing on Wednesday.
