Gracie Abrams new album The secret of us will be available soon and contains the new single “Close to you,” that almost didn’t make it onto the album!

The 24-year-old singer explained why she ultimately decided to include the song on the album.

“I wrote Close To You seven years ago and we made a demo that I posted 20 seconds of, and it somehow meant so much to you that we went back to the song seven years later,” Gracie wrote on Instagram.

She continued: “Close To You wasn’t originally part of TSOU – it’s from a completely different time, we had the whole record finished from start to finish, but I heard you loud and clear. Do you consider this a bonus track before the deluxe version?? When everyone got their vinyls this week, I got impatient and wanted you all to get it sooner. Or actually, seven years late.”

The secret of us will be released on June 21st and contains the song “Us” with Taylor Swift.

Gracie sings in the track: “I burn for you / And you don’t even know my name / If you asked me to / I’d give up everything / To be close to you / Pull the trigger of the gun I gave you when we met / I wanna be close to you / Break my heart and light a fire, you got me overnight / Just leave me alone.”
