Brad Pitt is a former racing driver who was “lured back” to the sport at the first glance of “F1”.
The teaser was first shown on July 7 at the British Formula One Grand Prix, where Pitt was in attendance.
The film follows Pitt as a former racing driver who wants to get back on the racetrack. According to an official synopsis for the film, he returns to Formula 1 with APXGP, a fictional team, to compete against the titans of the sport.”
In the trailer, Pitt explains to a woman who is helping him design his dream car: “Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, Aston and now McLaren are all superior to us on the straights. Our opportunity is the fight in the corners. We have to design our car for the fight.”
“How am I supposed to do this safely?” asks Kerry Condon’s character.
“Who said anything about security?” Pitt replies.
Besides this dialogue, the teaser is based on “We Will Rock You” by Queen and fast cars.
Damson Idris plays his teammate as the two prepare for the Grand Prix.
The film also stars Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo, as well as real Formula 1 teams and drivers.
The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also directed “Top Gun: Maverick” in 2022. Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton is a producer of the film alongside Pitt.
“F1,” a film from Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures, will be released in theaters on June 27, 2025.
