Sam’s Club customers have been warned that the coveted member benefit will be permanently eliminated on August 19

Sam’s Club customers have been warned that the coveted member benefit will be permanently eliminated on August 19

SAM’S Club members are angry because they have been deprived of an important benefit of free shipping.

A few weeks ago, members-only Sam’s Club announced that only customers who spend $50 or more will be eligible for free shipping.

Orders that do not meet the requirements will be subject to a flat fee of $8, CBS affiliate WKRC reported.

Sam’s Club noted that “some categories are excluded and therefore variable shipping costs apply.”

Prior to this change, all Sam’s Club Plus members received free shipping on all eligible orders.

With the new regulation coming into effect on August 19, some customers are wondering how they can get their goods at an affordable price.

“Hey @SamsClub how’s it going with these new changes and now Plus members have to order $50 or more to get free shipping,” one shopper posted on X.

“You are taking away benefits. ENOUGH, respond to your Plus members.”

The customer’s angry message reached the dealer.

“Hello Victor. Thank you for contacting us,” the store replied.

“By setting a minimum shopping basket value, we are expanding our members’ access to different shopping options.”

“This makes it easier for you to get the products you want, in the way you want, and at the time you want.”

“You can’t checkout,” Sam’s Club members warn, as shoppers must pay extra to shop early under store rules

The store’s reaction only added fuel to the fire.

“Please explain in detail how you ‘expand’ shopping access for customers and add a minimum cart value for Plus members,” the customer replied.

“What will change and what benefits will be added? Your answer is too vague.”

Attached to the member’s response is a list of their current benefits, which includes free delivery, free curbside pickup, Sam’s Cash, early shopping, and discounts at the pharmacy and optician.

The company never responded to the buyer’s follow-up tweet.

The next day, the shopper posted: “I and millions of other Plus members are waiting to hear why introducing a ‘cart minimum’ and eliminating free shipping will improve ‘access’ to shopping.”

“We seek the truth. What new advantages will you give us?”

“Please give me some advice. Don’t mess with me or anyone else.”

The buyer included a GIF of a man pointing at his watch and “Tick Tock” flashing on the screen.

Other subscribers asked themselves the same thing.

“How? How does this improve access? How does it make it easier to get the products,” asked one shopper.

“How does this make it easier to get the products you want? How does this make it easier to get them when you want them?”

“You say a lot, but in reality you say nothing.”

In response to this shopper’s question, the store simply responded with a link to the benefits of Sam’s Club membership.
