JESUS ​​​​“AGUAJE” RAMOS (born 1951) is a Cuban trombonist, singer, arranger and musical director. He is best known as the composer, arranger and trombonist of the Buena Vista Social Club. He has also been a long-time member of the world-class ensembles Estrellas de Areito and Afro-Cuban Allstars. His musical past and history are highlighted in the critically acclaimed 1999 documentary film Buena Vista Social Club and its 2017 sequel Buena Vista Social Club: Adios.

Ramos has participated in the popular recordings of The Buena Vista Social Club and Afro-Cuban Allstars, among many others, as well as the solo albums of Ibrahim Ferrer, Ruben Gonzales and Omara Portuondo. He was Gonzales’ musical director and has toured with many Afro-Cuban projects since 1997. He was a prominent member and musical director of the prestigious ‘Goodbye’ Tour that brought Cuban cultural music back to international fame.

Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos and The Buena Vista Orchestra began touring and performing in concerts in the mid-2010s and became a favorite of critics and audiences across North America. The Buena Vista Orchestra continues the legacy of this legendary musical and cultural movement in 2024 with an exciting new stage production and a repertoire of greatest hits (many of which were composed by Ramos) and deep dive cuts.

Key players from throughout the history of Cuban and Afro-Cuban music join Ramos on stage to celebrate everything from Guajira, Son, Danzon, Son Montuno, Pilon, Cha Cha Cha, Changui, Bolero to Guaracha, Ritmo Batanga, Afro, Latin Jazz and more. The Buena Vista Orchestra has amassed thousands of monthly listeners on Spotify with its debut album on SSK Entertainment. The best recorded performancesAnother album is due to be released later this year.

Ramos will be accompanied on this 2024 tour by an all-star ensemble, including experienced musicians “Betun” Luis Mariano Valiente Marin (Congas, Bongos), Emilio Senon Morales Ruiz (keys) and Fabian Garcia (Bass).
