Now it’s Travis Kelce’s turn to feel “so high school.”
The Kansas City Chiefs star, 34, was really feeling the love at Taylor Swift’s show in Amsterdam on Saturday, July 6. Swift, 34, surprised fans with an emotional mashup of “Everything Has Changed,” “So High School,” and “Mary’s Song (Oh My My).” Swifties weren’t alone, though. In a fan video shared on TikTok, it looked like Kelce had tears in his eyes during the performance.
Brittany Mahomes, the wife of teammate Patrick Mahomes and Kelce’s girlfriend, was even seen walking over to Travis, apparently to check on him when he became emotional during the performance. Fans have since dubbed the medley the “Travis Kelce mega-mashup,” with many posting on social media about how in love Swift must be.
“Mary’s Song” states, “I’m turning 87, you’re turning 89,” and fans have pointed out that Kelce’s number is 87, even though they were both born in 1989. “So High School” was, of course, inspired by Kelce – and he even admitted People that he was “perhaps a little biased” towards this song when asked which The “Tortured Poets” section Number was his favorite. Kelce was seen singing during the mashup and also appeared to wipe tears from his eyes.
Swifties went collectively mad at the video online. One TikTok user commented, “I love that Brittany Mahomes checked on him,” and another posted, “My heart can NOT handle this kind of vocal love… I can’t stop crying.” After the concert, Kelce and Swift looked sweet and happy as ever as they left the show. Kelce raised his hands in the air and encouraged fans to cheer Swift on, but when he leaned over and tenderly kissed her on the head, fans really went wild.
Another reason it could have been an emotional show is that Kelce’s journey to win Swift’s heart began about a year ago. In July 2023 New heights Podcast co-host famously went to Kansas City Eras Show with a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it – which he wanted to give to Swift.
That same day, Swift seemingly hinted that she was single when she posted Fourth of July photos with Selena Gomez and the Haim sisters, captioning them, “Belated Independence Day from the independent girls in your neighborhood. See you tonight at Kansas Cityee.”
