Ice Spice sends a strong message to the Taylor Swift haters in the audience

Entertainment gossip and news from the Newsweek staff network

Ice Spice didn’t mince her words when she defended Taylor Swift during a performance of her hit “Karma” over the weekend. In fact, she didn’t have to say anything at all to get her point across.

The 24-year-old “Princess Diana” rapper was in the middle of her performance of “Karma” – the remix – on stage at the Rolling Loud Europe music festival on Sunday, July 7, when the crowd began booing, jeering, and making thumbs-down gestures. The clip from the livestream, uploaded by one of Ice Spice’s fan accounts on X (formerly known as Twitter), not only clearly showed the audience’s negative reaction, but also Ice Spice’s own reaction loud and clear: She blew the crowd a kiss before flipping her hair back and turning in the opposite direction.

The Swifties were here for this.

Ice Spice was immediately called “MOTHER” – all in capital letters – for her response.

“MOTHERRR,” one fan posted about X, as a choir of others sang along.

“OH MOTHER WE LOVE TO SEE IT,” wrote another.

“Mother spice,” commented a third person.

Others knew that the “Think You the S*** (Fart)” artist would reap a lot of “Taykarma” for standing up for the 14-time Grammy winner.
