Who will hold Israel accountable for war crimes? | Israeli-Palestinian conflict

According to a report by a United Nations-backed commission of inquiry, Israel committed war crimes and crimes against humanity during the more than eight-month war in the Gaza Strip.

It goes on to say that Hamas and other armed Palestinian groups violated international humanitarian law in their attacks on southern Israel in October.

The conclusions are based on thousands of interviews with victims and advanced forensic analysis of medical reports and satellite images.

But neither a UN Security Council resolution nor a binding ruling by the UN Supreme Court could stop Israel’s offensive.

Will this incriminating evidence further isolate the right-wing government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu?

And could this make international support for Israel – led by its strongest ally, the United States – increasingly unsustainable?
