Kym Marsh, 48, hits back at critics of her new romance with famous boyfriend, 29

Kym Marsh had to defend her romance despite the age difference after she announced that she was in love with the “greatest man ever”. The 48-year-old actress posted a picture on Instagram in which she can be seen kissing her “101 Dalmatians: The Musical” co-star and new boyfriend Samuel Thomas (29).

In the caption, the former Coronation Street star told her followers: “Met the most amazing man ever! Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times. @samuelthomasuk I love you #gorgeous #soulmate #loveyou.”

However, her post garnered many negative comments from cruel trolls criticising the new relationship. One person wrote: “Jesus another amazing man. 5 minute miracle. He looks like your son,” to which she hit back: “Do one.” Another added: “You said that about the last guy last year too,” to which she replied: “Why don’t you go and do one.”

The Corrie star was also quick and kind in responding to those who left messages in her defence, with one person writing: “I can’t believe how many people immediately jumped on this post to just post negative crap. This is a human being sharing his good news, this is a woman who lost her father not too long ago and by the looks of things has found happiness.”

“Most of these comments are also from women which somehow always makes it worse when another woman is content and happy. I can only imagine it’s jealousy or just being totally unhappy in your own life.” Kym wrote back to the fan: “Thank you x.”

Another wrote: “Fuck the haters on this post girl. So many of us love you and are happy for you,” to which Kym replied: “Thank you x.”

Kym and Samuel are currently starring in the UK and Ireland tour of the hit musical 101 Dalmatians. In the production, Kym takes on the role of Cruella de Vil, while Samuel plays Tom Dearly.

In another post on his own Instagram account, Samuel also expressed his growing love for Kym by sharing a black and white photo of them touching foreheads. “I wasn’t expecting you but here you are. I love you,” he wrote alongside a red heart emoji.

Kym returned the sweet gesture and commented, “Same. The best things happen unexpectedly. Love you too.”

The unexpected romance comes a year after Kym split from her husband, Army Major Scott Ratcliffe, after two years of marriage. The couple married in October 2021. However, they split again in May 2023, 19 months after they first said “I do.”
