Springfield officials announce Books & Brew, a unique book club for young professionals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A new collaboration between the Springfield City Library, Liberty Bank and White Lion Brewing Co. is bringing a unique book club to Springfield this September.

Hosted at White Lion Brewing, located in downtown Springfield at 1500 Main Street, this new and exciting program will take place quarterly on Tuesdays after work from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the first event beginning September 10.


Dates and books to read:

  • 10 September 2024: Culture and Cash: Lessons from a First Generation Mentor on Managing Finances and Cultural Expectations
  • December 10, 2024: Finances for the people: Keep your finances under control
  • March 11, 2025: Your first million: Why you don’t have to be born into a rich family to leave a fortune
  • June 10, 2025: The Antiracist Business Book: An Equity-Focused Approach to Work, Prosperity, and Leadership

Books & Brew is designed to help participants improve their financial well-being and money management skills. Selected books provide insight and knowledge on the topics of work, wealth and leadership.

“Springfield City Library shares White Lion and Liberty Bank’s commitment to the community and we are proud to offer this new book club focused on financial literacy and wellness with the goal of promoting economic improvement for our residents,” said Rachel Gravel, manager of adult and youth information services at Springfield City Library.

We are able to work with regional stakeholders for the benefit of our community. Our partnership with Liberty Bank and Springfield Libraries demonstrates how public and private entities can work together for a common cause.”
