Fire at women’s shelter in Rockville leaves residents homeless
A Fourth of July electrical fire at the Interfaith Works women’s homeless shelter in Rockville left about three dozen residents homeless. The fire damaged the shelter’s kitchen and bathroom, but no one was injured, Interfaith Works said. (WUSA9)
District issues hyperthermia alert for Monday
Montgomery County issued a hypothermia alert from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. This is the fifth day in a row that authorities have issued such an alert. A hypothermia alert is issued when temperatures are expected to exceed 95 degrees, the county said. (MyMCMedia)
