The married superstar, 43, had reportedly enjoyed a boozy dinner with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Louisiana, before getting behind the wheel of a gray 2025 BMW shortly after midnight and was almost immediately stopped by police officers in the posh enclave.

The former NSYNC star told police he only had “one martini,” but a witness told the Washington Post that Timberlake was “drunk” – so much so that he took another man’s drink from the table and drank it when the man went to the bathroom.

Officers at the scene reported that “his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, ​​his breath gave off the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, he was unable to divide his attention, spoke slowly, was unsteady on his feet, and scored poorly on all standardized sobriety tests,” the criminal complaint states.

Timberlake, who has admitted to having problems with “excessive drinking” in the past, refused to take a breathalyzer test three times, authorities said.

Timberlake was arraigned in Suffolk County Court later Tuesday morning on charges of drunken driving, stop sign violations and failure to maintain his lane and was released.
