When you think of Haitian restaurants in Brockton, Tamboo is probably at the top of the list. The restaurant has been a staple in Brockton for over a decade, changing the way people think about dinner and “shows.” The restaurant prides itself on keeping Haitian culture alive by hosting parties and weekly events to keep people entertained. After 9 p.m., you can expect live music or a DJ spinning tunes. If you didn’t come to Tamboo for the music, you’re definitely coming for the food. The menu includes red snapper sautéed in sauce and spices, griyo (fried pork), djon djon rice (rice with black mushrooms), coconut shrimp, fried plantains, and Caribbean chicken marinated in sauce. Drinks feature a blend of tropical Caribbean flavors from Haitian Persuasion infused with imported Haitian rum.
