McDonald’s launches “Summer of Bargains” with menu offer and free fries on Friday

McDonald’s has officially announced a $5 meal deal.

Rumors had been circulating for weeks before the fast-food giant unveiled the deal on Thursday, which is said to represent a return to the low prices that made it famous.

Starting June 25, the menu will be available for a limited time at participating McDonald’s restaurants nationwide and includes a choice of McDouble or McChicken, small portions of fries, 4 chicken nuggets and a small drink.

“We’ve heard our fans loud and clear – they expect even more value from us and that’s exactly what they’ll get this summer,” said Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA.

“Value has always been part of our DNA. We’re focused on living up to that heritage and offering delicious, affordable options that our customers can enjoy whenever they walk through our doors, drive through our drive thru or place an order through our app.”

The offer is part of McDonald’s “Summer of Value,” which also includes “Free Fries Friday.” On Fridays, customers can get a free medium-sized portion of fries with every purchase of $1 or more through the end of 2024 when they use the McDonald’s app.

On Saturday, July 13, in honor of National French Fry Day, fans can get free fries of any size with no purchase required.

McDonald’s has approximately 13,500 restaurants in the United States, most of which are owned and operated by independent business owners.
